UND is the only flight school to utilize an FAA-approved Safety Management System (SMS) that operates at the same level as the major airlines. An SMS is a structured process that obligates UND Aerospace to manage safety with the same level of priority that other core business processes are managed. As the only flight school with an FAA-approved SMS system, UND Aerospace can pursue a culture of safety promotion and assurance unmatched by any other flight training institution.
