New Glass Cockpit Fleet - The primary training aircraft are Garmin G1000NXi-equipped Piper Archers and Seminoles. The average age of the fleet is less than 5 years old.

Aircraft Maintenance - UND Aerospace provides the highest level of standards for aircraft maintenance through our FAA-approved Part 145 Repair Station. UND Aerospace takes special pride in providing a cutting-edge, reliable, and well-maintained fleet.

Flight Standards and Safety Departments - Every professional aviation organization places safety and standard operating procedures as two of their highest priorities. UND is the only collegiate flight school to utilize an FAA-approved Safety Management System (SMS) that operates at the same level as the major airlines. Our Flight Standards departments works with the Instructor team to ensure every student receives the same quality training, reducing student hours and costs.

Current UNDAF Students - Students currently enrolled in the UNDAF program may apply for a CFI position after finishing their 230/23 stage check. If an interview is scheduled before the End of Course Check 230/25 or before completing the CFI ground school, applicants will not receive feedback on the interview results until all CFI course requirements have been fulfilled.

In your application, email, or cover letter, please indicate the earliest class date you are available for. Previous applicants must apply again for new training class openings. Due to the high volume of applications, you will only be contacted (via email) should you be chosen for an interview.

Minimum Qualifications

  • FAA Flight Instructor Certificate
  • Valid FAA Class III Medical Certificate
  • Ability to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFII
  • MEI
  • Dual Given
  • Initial CFI Applicant Qualification (FAR 61.195H)
