Aircraft Technician Position
Overview
Position Number: 43205
- Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
- Department: Maintenance
Our Aircraft Technicians are essential in maintaining our fleet's safety and efficiency. You will conduct routine and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations while supporting our mission to provide high-quality flight training.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance, including 50-hour, 100-hour, annual, and progressive inspections.
- Research and comply with FAA Airworthiness Directives and regulatory requirements.
- Determine time limits for aircraft components and conduct preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair inoperative systems, ensuring aircraft are flight-ready.
- Review work orders and aircraft records for completeness and accuracy.
- Conduct minor and major alterations and repairs as assigned.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Must hold an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
- Meet the currency requirements of FAR Part 65.83.
- In-depth knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance.
- Experience working collaboratively with other technicians to meet flight training demands.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs).
- Participation in drug and alcohol testing as required by UND Aerospace Anti-Drug Program.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years of technical experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cessna single-engine and Piper multi-engine aircraft is a plus.
- Previous coursework in maintenance management or related fields.
Work Schedule:
- Enjoy a four-day, 10-hour work week with no weekends.
- 3-day weekends.
